The farm is an 85 acre working stock
farm with a Devon suckler beef herd.
These are just a few of the Devon Reds, Elstead Wonder (the
bull) is in the middle.
We also have a small herd of alpacas, the three shown here are
Angel, April, and the young cria is called Alice.
Alice was born on 18th July 2000.
This is Archie,
and this is Alice at one day old.
School visiting days are encouraged at Horriford. These are
children from Shute Primary School who were given a tour of
the farm and learned about organic farming methods and the history
of the area.
A wildlife pond has also been established to teach children
about the diversity of life in this type of habitat. A dipping
platform will be built sometime next year and if all goes well,
it should be open for use in the spring.
The latest addition to the alpaca herd is Angelica, she was
born in August 2001.
