The Badger
A large population of badgers live in the Horriford valley,
making their setts in the soft greensand of Bluebell woods.
They forage through fields at night and can occasionally be
seen crossing the lanes.

In the spring, Doe's have their single spotted fawns in quiet
field margins.

The Fox
Several foxes use the farm for their hunting beats and have
definite runs through the fields. The cubs are born each year
and find cover in the tall maize.

The Heron
Herons are seen in the water meadows beside the stream and
at the ponds where they hunt for eels and frogs.

The Longtailed Tit
One of Englands smallest birds is resident in the wooded valley
and nests in gorse bushes on the farm. In winter it can be seen
in flocks feeding on insects in the willows.
